Most importantly, our employees are part of a team that makes a real difference in the communities we live and work in.**Job Summary:**Location: Methodist Hospital Address: 8303 Dodge St, Omaha, NE Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm Provides strategic scheduling support to multiple hospital nursing departments to ensure optimal staffing and utilization of the patient care team; generally supports nursing leadership to achieve operational improvement and labor cost reduction.**Responsibilities:**# **Essential Job Functions**# 1. Maintains and manages department schedules.* Generates shifts for each schedule period.* Manages, prints & distributes misc. timesheets to each unit.* Verifies schedule and shift requirements are met for all staff once they self-schedule.* Adds incentive shifts once they’ve been approved for staff.* Actively works to balance staffing across shifts to ensure adequate coverage.* Makes daily edits as needed.* Monitors future staffing and proactively resolves concerns while maintaining communication with managers.2. Processes PTO requests according department and organization guidelines.* Maintains record of employee PTO utilization as directed.* Follows-up with staff when insufficient PTO hours are available ahead of requested leave.* Collaborates with managers when conflicts arise.3. Assists department manager when onboarding of new employees.* Enters schedule pattern, scheduling group, and holiday requirements.* Trains new staff on self-scheduling, transferring hours, approving timecards, etc.* Assist staff in downloading and using mobile scheduling app, if desired.4. Demonstrates proficiency with computer software to produce reports, graphs, databases, forms, correspondence and other documents as requested by leadership.* Prints staffing sheets daily for administrative coordinator.* Generates and shares monthly reports detailing labor utilization.**Schedule:**Monday-Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm**Job Description:**# **Job Requirements****Education*** High School Diploma or General Educational Development (G.E.D.) required.**Experience*** Minimum of 3 years administrative experience required.* Prior experience as a staffing or scheduling coordinator preferred.* Prior healthcare experience preferred.* Medical terminology preferred**License/Certifications*** N/A**Skills/Knowledge/Abilities*** Experience interacting with various levels of leadership and staff.* Ability to develop strong relationships through email, text and phone.* Acute attention to detail.* Ability to exercise excellent judgment and diplomacy in all interactions.* Ability to prioritize work and possess professional sense of accountability.* Ability to show independent thinking, analysis, and problem solving capabilities.* Strong written and verbal communication skills.* Proficiency in business software applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and comfortable with new technologies and software.* Experience with Kronos preferred.# **Physical Requirements**# **Weight Demands*** Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force.**Physical Activity*** Not necessary for the position (0%): + Climbing + Crawling + Kneeling* Occasionally Performed (1%-33%): + Balancing + Carrying + Crouching + Distinguish colors + Grasping + Lifting + Pulling/Pushing + Standing + Stooping/bending + Twisting + Walking* Frequently Performed (34%-66%): + Keyboarding/typing + Reaching + Repetitive Motions + Sitting + Speaking/talking* Constantly Performed (67%-100%): + Hearing + Seeing/Visual**Job Hazards*** Not Related: + Chemical agents (Toxic, Corrosive, Flammable, Latex) + Biological agents (primary air born and blood born viruses) (Jobs with Patient contact) Blood or Body Fluid (BBF) + Physical hazards (noise, temperature, lighting, wet floors, outdoors, sharps) (more than ordinary office environment) + Equipment/Machinery/Tools + Explosives (pressurized gas) + Electrical Shock/Static + Radiation Alpha, Beta and Gamma (particles such as Xray, Cat Scan, Gamma Knife, etc) + Radiation NonIonizing (Ultraviolet, visible light, infrared and microwaves that causes injuries to tissue or thermal or photochemical means) + Mechanical moving parts/vibrations**About Methodist:**Nebraska Methodist Health System is made up of four hospitals in Nebraska and southwest Iowa, more than 30 clinic locations, a nursing and allied health college, and a medical supply distributorship and central laundry facility.
