Pay: $90,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
Why This Is a Great Opportunity
- Build your practice in a respected, client-focused real estate law environment where your work has a direct impact on clients' biggest transactions.
- Take ownership of residential and commercial real estate closings while developing deeper expertise in North Carolina real estate law.
- Enjoy meaningful flexibility with work hours and remote work when your responsibilities allow.
- Receive annual bonus opportunities plus employer-paid health, dental, and vision insurance.
- Receive a 3% employer 401(k) contribution after six months, regardless of employee contribution.
- Benefit from unlimited PTO and a team that genuinely values balance, flexibility, and professional growth.
- Have the opportunity to develop your own book of business and grow into greater responsibility within a small, supportive firm.
Location: Asheville, NC with a flexible hybrid approach. We support remote work when practical, but this position requires regular in-person availability for client signings, closings, relationship building, and other activities where being in the office adds value. Candidates should live in or be willing to relocate to the Western North Carolina area.
Note: An active North Carolina Bar license in good standing is required. Real estate closing experience is preferred but is not required; attorneys with strong related real estate, title, or transactional experience are encouraged to apply.
About Us
We are a boutique law practice focused on providing thoughtful, personal legal guidance in real estate and related matters. Our team believes clients deserve clear communication, serious follow-through, and an advisor who treats them with respect while delivering practical legal solutions. We value balance, flexibility, professional development, and doing excellent work for the people and businesses we serve. Confidential Employer.
Job Description
- Manage residential and commercial real estate closings from contract through post-closing.
- Review title work, identify and resolve title defects, and coordinate title commitments and final policies.
- Prepare and review deeds, deeds of trust, settlement statements, title opinions, and other closing documents.
- Conduct and oversee closings while ensuring compliance with North Carolina closing requirements and lender expectations.
- Communicate directly with clients, lenders, real estate agents, title professionals, and opposing counsel to keep transactions moving efficiently.
- Handle title curative matters, including corrective deeds, lien releases, and related documentation.
- Advise clients on real estate matters and assist with related issues such as easements, boundary matters, 1031 exchanges, and entity formation.
- Maintain accurate trust account and closing fund procedures.
- Build strong professional relationships and contribute to the continued growth of the practice.
Qualifications
- Active North Carolina Bar license in good standing.
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
- 1+ years of directly relevant legal experience preferred, with real estate, title, closing, or transactional experience strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of North Carolina real estate law, title standards, recording procedures, or closing practices is a plus.
- Strong communication, organization, attention to detail, and client-service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple transactions and deadlines independently.
- Willingness to be physically present in the Asheville/Western North Carolina area when needed.
Why You Will Love Working Here
We are a small, collaborative team where attorneys have the opportunity to make a real impact rather than getting lost in layers of bureaucracy. You will have meaningful client interaction, room to build your professional reputation and book of business, and flexibility to structure your workday around getting the job done well. We believe a demanding legal practice and a fulfilling life can coexist, and we back that philosophy with flexible remote work, unlimited PTO, strong benefits, professional development support, and a culture built around trust and respect.
