Your mission

Own the health of fire alarm detection and suppression systems across assigned facilities. From work order intake to closeout, you will:

• Independently perform maintenance and repairs to keep buildings and structures in good working order.
• Install, inspect, test, maintain, and repair fire alarm/suppression equipment to manufacturer requirements and NFPA standards.
• Inspect devices and panels; replace defective components.
• Test initiating and signal circuits, detectors, and the system transmitter; make needed repairs.
• Read gauges on suppression system storage containers; recharge or replace as required.
• Use wiring diagrams and control schematics to trace and resolve faults.
• Plan and lay out work using blueprints, models, and written/verbal direction.
• Coordinate with trades and warehouse teams to source correct materials and assemblies; conduct periodic stock inventories and submit requisitions.
• Diagnose system failures and determine corrective actions.
• Assist other departments/trades during daily operations; handle other duties as assigned.

Do you have what it takes? Must-haves

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Four (4) years of experience in the fire alarm maintenance and/or electrical field.
• NICET II Certification.
• Demonstrated ability to install, troubleshoot, and repair various fire alarm systems, controls, and equipment, including addressable fire alarm and suppression systems.
• Ability to successfully pass any employment background check and/or drug testing required on the contract.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance at the Secret level.

Nice-to-haves

• Working knowledge of solid-state and conventional control circuitry.
• Experience supporting Military or Government base operations.

Environment & physical demands

• Work indoors and outdoors across temperature extremes; travel to various buildings in all weather conditions.
• Comfort working around potential exposure to hazardous materials.
• Lift up to 50 lbs; frequent overhead reaching, bending, stooping, and squatting.
• Load/unload tools, materials, and equipment; climb ladders routinely.

Location

Onsite role at Fort Greely, Alaska.
