About the Position

# Job Opportunity – Emergency Department Registered Nurse – Texas

Start Date: October 19, 2026

Location: McAllen, Texas

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour shifts with rotating weekends (every other weekend); 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio

Highlights:

• 11-bed freestanding emergency department specializing in trauma and acute care
• Diverse case mix including emergency response procedures, trauma care, POC lab, and precipitous deliveries
• EMR system: Meditech
• Exposure to critical protocols including code blue, stroke, STEMI, and sepsis management
• Collaborative team environment with opportunity to float to other emergency departments as needed
• Work alongside a dedicated team of 3 RNs per shift

Requirements:

• Active Texas RN license or ability to obtain
• Minimum 2 years of emergency department or freestanding emergency department (FSED) experience required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC, NIHSS, and CPI
• Demonstrated proficiency with tough sticks, large bore IVs, blood cultures, triage, and patient monitoring
• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
