Registered Nurse (RN) - Day Shift

This is a 13-week contract position.

Day shift, 3x12 hours.

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed and supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees. This role promotes patient and employee safety with a focus on a safe work environment and adherence to safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
• Identify teaching needs and goals through collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
• Provide timely communication regarding patient status and participate in team conferences.
• Utilize the nursing process for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission.
• Communicate changes in patient status effectively to support continuity of care.
• Supervise ancillary nursing personnel, delegating tasks appropriately.
• Ensure personal and environmental safety in accordance with nursing policies.
• Contribute positively to the unit's work environment through teamwork and support of staff.
• Maintain communication with management regarding service needs and clinical training.
• Engage in professional development opportunities through continuing education.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to first shift (specific to CIRH only).
• Minimum of two (2) years bedside clinical experience required.
