Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality patient care by ensuring the nursing care plan is effectively followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants and plays a key role in providing direct patient care.

Responsibilities

• Perform a nursing assessment on all patients within 8 hours of admission to develop an individualized plan of care.
• Identify teaching needs and goals in collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner in the medical record.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program and provide direct care following the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission.
• Communicate changes in patient status to all relevant care providers to ensure continuity of care.
• Provide training and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel and ensure personal and environmental safety standards are followed.
• Contribute positively to unit operations and engage in team-building activities.
• Maintain communication with management regarding service and supply needs.
• Assume charge responsibility upon request after orientation.
• Pursue professional growth through continuing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification is required before the first shift.
• ACLS Certification is required before the first shift for CIRH ONLY.
• A minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.
