Job Title: Senior Medical Content Writer Employment Type: W2 Contract | 3 Months / NO C2C Pay rate: $58-68 (DOE) Role Overview BEPC Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Medical Writer to join our client's in-house creative studio on a 3-month W2 contract. This hybrid opportunity is ideal for a medical writer with deep pharmaceutical industry experience who excels at developing, substantiating, and defending promotional and educational claims through the Medical, Legal, and Regulatory (MLR) review process. In this role, you'll collaborate closely with creative directors, designers, medical affairs, and regulatory teams to produce scientifically accurate, compelling content for healthcare professionals and patients. Your expertise in clinical data interpretation, FDA promotional regulations, and claim substantiation will be essential in creating compliant, engaging medical communications. Key Responsibilities Develop, refine, and substantiate promotional and non-promotional claims using clinical trial data, prescribing information, and peer-reviewed literature. Create annotated references and claim substantiation packages ready for MLR review and approval. Write high-quality medical content across multiple channels, including: Disease-state education Congress presentations and panels Digital marketing assets Video scripts Sales and promotional materials Ensure all promotional content maintains fair balance, accurate Important Safety Information (ISI), and on-label compliance. Partner with Medical Affairs and Regulatory teams to proactively address reviewer feedback and develop compliant alternatives. Collaborate with creative teams to integrate scientific accuracy with impactful messaging and visual storytelling. Maintain claim libraries, references, and documentation to support future content development and consistency. Qualifications Required 5–8 years of medical writing experience within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or medical communications environments. Demonstrated experience writing, substantiating, and defending promotional claims through the MLR review process. Strong understanding of claim substantiation standards, referencing conventions, and regulatory expectations. Excellent ability to interpret: Clinical trial data Scientific publications Prescribing Information (PI) Knowledge of: FDA/OPDP promotional regulations Fair balance requirements Important Safety Information (ISI) standards Proficiency with AMA style guidelines. Exceptional writing skills with the ability to communicate effectively to healthcare professionals, patients, and internal stakeholders. Outstanding attention to detail with strong annotation, referencing, and document version control skills. Preferred Advanced degree in Life Sciences (PharmD, PhD, MS) or equivalent scientific background. Experience using Veeva Vault PromoMats annotation workflows. Oncology, immunology, biologics, or specialty pharmaceutical experience. Previous experience supporting an in-house creative studio or embedded content team.
