We are looking for an experienced Human Resources (HR) Generalist to support a broad range of people operations for a Contract position based in Brooklyn, New York. This role will serve as a key resource for employees and managers by providing practical guidance on workplace matters, policies, payroll, benefits, and onboarding activities. The ideal candidate brings sound judgment, strong HR administration skills, and the ability to manage sensitive matters with professionalism and discretion.
Responsibilities:• Collaborate with department leaders to address employee relations concerns and help resolve day-to-day workplace issues effectively.
• Interpret and explain HR policies, handbook guidelines, and applicable employment regulations to employees and supervisors.
• Assist with workplace investigations and help coordinate appropriate follow-up actions, including disciplinary documentation and processes.
• Oversee onboarding activities for new hires, ensuring required forms and employment documents are completed accurately in the HR system.
• Process payroll entries and support accurate, timely compensation administration using ADP or a similar payroll platform.
• Administer employee benefit communications for medical, dental, vision, retirement, and leave-related programs, including 401(k) and unpaid sick leave guidance.
• Serve as a point of contact for employee benefit questions and partner with the benefits broker on enrollments and more complex coverage matters.
• Prepare HR-related reports within the organization’s system and maintain accurate personnel records and supporting documentation.• At least 3 years of experience in a Human Resources Generalist or closely related HR role.
• Demonstrated background in employee relations, HR administration, onboarding, and benefits support.
• Working knowledge of HR policies, employment practices, and leave and benefits administration.
• Experience processing payroll, preferably with ADP or a comparable payroll system.
• Familiarity with HRIS platforms and the ability to learn new systems and reporting tools quickly.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain policies and procedures clearly to employees and managers.
• High level of discretion, organization, and attention to detail when handling confidential employee information.
