Water/Wastewater Project Engineer

We are seeking a Water/Wastewater Project Engineer to support the delivery of infrastructure projects from initial concept through to completion. This role will suit an experienced civil or environmental engineer with a strong understanding of water and wastewater systems, project coordination, and technical design. You will work closely with clients, contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders to deliver safe, practical, and cost-effective solutions that meet regulatory and operational requirements.


Your responsibilities will include preparing and reviewing designs, calculations, specifications, drawings, reports, and technical documentation for water and wastewater projects. You will contribute to feasibility studies, condition assessments, hydraulic analysis, design development, procurement, construction support, and commissioning activities. The role will also involve coordinating multidisciplinary teams, monitoring programme and budget performance, managing risks and technical issues, and ensuring that project deliverables meet agreed quality standards. You may be required to attend site visits, inspections, progress meetings, and stakeholder consultations, providing technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle.


Applicants should hold a degree or equivalent qualification in civil, environmental, water, or wastewater engineering, along with relevant professional experience in the design or delivery of water infrastructure projects. Knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes, pipelines, pumping stations, drainage systems, hydraulic modelling, and applicable health, safety, and environmental standards is highly desirable. Experience with engineering software, design standards, contract administration, and project management methodologies will be advantageous. You should be able to communicate clearly, manage competing priorities, and work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. A proactive approach, sound commercial awareness, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to technical excellence are essential.
