Overview Nexus Family Healing is hiring a residential Mental Health Therapist to add to our clinical team in Manteno, IL. Provide overall management of youth's treatment through active engagement, clinical assessment, treatment, and discharge planning. Nexus Family Healing is a national nonprofit with over 50 years of experience restoring hope for children and families through mental health services, foster care, adoption, and residential treatment. At Nexus Family Healing in Manteno, IL, youth in residential care also attend Safe Harbor School, an accredited special education program for grades 6-12, offering individualized curricula with transferable credits upon discharge. Schedule and Compensation Full-time; on-site : 101 N Bramble Street, Manteno, IL 60950 Salary range: $68,000 - $75,000 annually based on years of related experience and credentials. The therapist will provide clinical insight and work from a trauma-informed lens to enhance the milieu and programming. Engage with families through family therapy and treatment planning. Collaborate with the community and providers related to the youth's progress and discharge planning. Responsibilities Creates and drives a trauma-informed environment Collaborate with youth and family to work with a team and develop a Nexus Individual and Family Guidance Plan Engage in and have active involvement in the Family Collaborative Intake meetings Complete Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS) functional assessment in accordance with the TCOM collaborative principles Provide brief, individualized, youth-focused, strength-based, evidence-based family and individual therapy models with youth and families Participate in all youth-related treatment team meetings Assess readiness for discharge in conjunction with the treatment team Coordinate and communicate aftercare needs of the client with family and all necessary social service and community providers to ensure a smooth transition Communicate with the treatment team to include all desired and necessary family members, educational, legal, community, and social service providers (as well as all natural supports that the youth and family identify) to gather all necessary information to inform and support the treatment process Ensure that all required client reports, records, and documentation are produced accurately and maintained in a consistent, timely, and professional manner according to policy and regulated statutes Requirements Master's degree in one of the behavioral sciences, human services, social work, marriage & family therapy, psychology, counseling, or clinically related fields 1 year of professional adolescent counseling and/or residential experience Previous experience with trauma treatment and experience serving a culturally diverse population If currently unlicensed and clinical licensure is required in your state: Must be on track to complete licensure for a specific, related discipline And/or currently holds a provisional/intermediary license for a specific track (i.e. LGSW, LMSW, LAMFT or LPC) In Illinois: Must have or be willing to obtain an LASOP license within 3 months of hire Valid driver’s license required. Must meet state regulating agency and Nexus Home Office driving requirements Must successfully pass an IL DCFS criminal background check Successfully participate in and complete a three-part Therapeutic Crisis Intervention exam and training Must have the ability to build strong relationships with diverse individuals or communities and understand their unique needs and challenges Must be open to meeting the cultural needs of individuals or communities, considering factors such as language, traditions, and values Nice to Have LPC, LMFT, LCSW, LCPC or equivalent professional licensure for a masters-level clinically related field strongly preferred 2 years of adolescent counseling and/or residential experience Physical Demands Must be able to assist staff in proper restraining of residents Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance Must be able to twist, bend and stretch in a manner conducive to the execution of daily activities within a residential treatment program Commitment to Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion At Nexus Family Healing, our voices and actions are focused on recognizing, affirming and respecting people of every race, ethnic background, socio-economic status, sexual orientation, gender expression and faith.
