Actuarial Consultant RP

Job TitleBe the First to ApplyJob DescriptionEssential Functions and Primary DutiesManage projects related to the performance of annual actuarial work for DB and DB/DC combo plans, which includes:Census data gathering, reconciliation, quality control, and importation onto valuation softwareExamination and verification of retirement trust financial statements, compute actuarial value of assets for valuationRunning actuarial valuations and summarizing results for reviewFiling IRS Forms and PBGC filingsPreparing valuation funding reportsPreparing actuarial studies and benefit statementsCoverage and non-discrimination testingLead client meetings to identify client's needs, clarify expectations, help set retirement strategic directions and goals, and deliver results and consulting adviceTrack and meet all compliance standardsAssist with special actuarial projectsReview client invoices for completeness and accuracyUnderstand and assist in the interpretation of plan documentsProvide technical knowledge of pension plans and calculation procedures to Benefits Administration Team for various clientsApply understanding of fundamental principles of pension plans, actuarial concepts, pension legislation, and accounting requirements for pension plansPursue actuarial or ASPPA examinationsReview peer technical work flowAdditional responsibilities as assignedMinimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GEDAt least six years of actuarial or outsourcing pension experiencePossesses comprehensive knowledge of industry and professional concepts, principles, practices, and proceduresExpert knowledge of pertinent laws, regulations, and professional standardsProficient use of applicable technologyProficient use of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and enterprise communication and travel solutions (Concur, Skype)Experience performing work that requires initiative and leadership skillsWorking towards Enrolled Actuary (EA)Ability to contract with and influence leaders in the organization, good at networking, collaboration and sharing of ideas and successesStrong problem solver with good business analysis skills (e.g. build business cases, develop and implement plans for business cases, ask probative questions to identify requirements)Ability to handle and prioritize multiple simultaneous assignments, manage to critical deadlines, with extraordinary attention to detailDemonstrate an open-minded approach to understanding people regardless of differences; effectively works with people from diverse backgroundsAddress conflicts by focusing on the issues at hand to develop effective solutions when disputes or disagreements occurAccept full responsibility for self and contribution as a team memberAbility to travel as necessaryAbout UsCBIZ, Inc.
