Cafeteria Manager

SCHEDULE:6:15 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. (8 hrs.) Monday through Friday, when school is in session and lunch is served. (Hours may vary with workload.) QUALIFICATIONS Must have a ServSafe certificate. Previous school supervisory experience preferred. Able to read and follow a recipe and convert recipes to larger and/or smaller amounts. Prior cooking and baking experience in an institutional atmosphere. Past experience cooking using commercial equipment. Must have had a demonstrated good attendance record. Able to push, pull, or lift items weighing 35 pounds. RESPONSIBILITIES Able to read and interpret profit/loss statement and cost out meals including food and labor costs. Work with Director of School Nutrition and the Asst. Manager to maintain food services and records pertaining to the N.S.L.P. To use Microsoft Excel, Word and Google Suite computer programs to complete tasks. Implement the new U.S.D.A. guidelines and nutritional standards using computers. Assist in the cooking and baking of the student meals. Maintain a current ServSafe certificate. Proven ability to communicate with students, staff, administration and the public. Demonstrated positive attitude with administrators, staff, and students. Supervise a building’s school nutrition operation and the assigned cafeteria staff. Maintain the Corporation’s high standards of nutrition, food production and service. Work with the Director of School Nutrition and Assistant School Nutrition Director to maintain the continuity of the N.S.L.P. as it pertains to the elementary school level. Work with the Director of School Nutrition and Assistant School Nutrition Director to maintain a sanitary work and food environment for the staff, students and administration. Generate a weekly food and supply order in a timely manner and maintain proper storage of both. Create and maintain weekly and monthly documents as required by the Director of School Nutrition. Train cafeteria employees in the appropriate methods to prepare and distribute food. Supervise and help in the preparation of cooking and baking of product.
