Job Title: Legal Attorney Location(s): Washington, DC 20049 (Onsite) Job Summary The Legal Attorney will provide legal advice, representation, and support to eligible clients, focusing on landlord-tenant law. The role involves engaging in systemic advocacy, conducting community outreach, and collaborating with legal services advocates and community leaders. Key Responsibilities Provides timely, accurate information, legal advice, representation including in eviction and housing conditions litigation and/or non-litigation matters, referral, self‑help materials, guidance, and/or other assistance to eligible clients within and related to landlord‑tenant law. Engages in or supports systemic advocacy relating to areas of expertise. Conducts community outreach, education, and training events. Provides guidance and refers cases to volunteers, law students, and legal support staff, and monitors their work on assigned cases. Develops and maintains expertise in primary areas of responsibility. Collaborates with other legal services advocates, clients, and community leaders with the purpose of working in partnership on systemic issues. Required Qualifications Candidates must possess a law degree and be licensed to practice in the relevant jurisdiction. Experience in landlord‑tenant law and advocacy is preferred.
