Environmental Health Safety Coordinator

The Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator supports the development, implementation, and management of workplace safety and environmental programs. This role assists with incident investigations, safety audits, regulatory compliance activities, and employee training to ensure adherence to applicable safety standards and environmental requirements. The position works closely with site leadership to promote a safe work environment and drive continuous improvement in safety performance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Coordinate and perform routine workplace safety audits, including monthly and annual assessments Conduct emergency preparedness drills (e.g., fire and severe weather) and report outcomes to site leadership Administer occupational health programs such as hearing conservation testing Investigate workplace incidents, injuries, and safety events, documenting findings and contributing to root cause analysis Deliver safety orientation and onboarding training for new employees Perform daily safety observations and routine facility walkthroughs Facilitate recurring safety meetings and promote employee engagement in safety initiatives Maintain the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) management system Develop, implement, and monitor adherence to site‑specific safety procedures and programs Conduct safety inspections and risk assessments prior to and during operational activities Provide safety training and guidance on regulatory requirements and safe equipment operation Recommend corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance workplace safety Maintain accurate documentation related to safety programs, incidents, and compliance records Serve as a liaison between internal teams and external agencies such as regulatory bodies, emergency services, and insurance representatives Support additional safety and environmental initiatives as required

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail Effective written and verbal communication skills, including training delivery Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) Ability to collaborate across multiple functions and organizational levels Experience with data tracking, reporting, and safety metrics analysis Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment Flexibility to support multi‑shift operations as needed Working knowledge of regulatory standards, including OSHA and applicable environmental regulations

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent required Associate or bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, or related field preferred Minimum of 2 years of experience in a safety, environmental, or EHS‑related role preferred Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or production environments preferred Professional certifications such as OSHA 30‑hour training or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) are advantageous

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
