Senior Project Manager - Substation and Transmission

Date: May 28, 2026 Location: Walnut Creek, CA, US Company: Black & Veatch Family of Companies Relocation eligible: Yes Full time: Full-Time Senior Project Manager – Substation and Transmission Line Function: Project manager responsible for services projects across HV, MV, LV, underground, and overhead transmission lines, with potential involvement in distribution, private networks, and BESS. 10% travel required. Key Responsibilities Actively promote the safety culture. Respond to RFPs and prepare proposals for services work. Lead project team in conceptual design and procurement phases of substation projects. Manage schedule, budget, and scope of services projects. Interface between the client, external stakeholders, and internal stakeholders to ensure project success. Work in both corporate and field environments. Preferred Qualifications 10+ years of relevant industry experience including high-voltage, medium-voltage, and low-voltage substations. Experience in multiple phases of project execution. Bachelor's degree in Engineering or relevant degree. PE, P.Eng or equivalent professional license. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Work Environment / Physical Demands Typical office and construction environments, extreme weather conditions, high noise level, safety hazards (electric currents, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to chemicals), atmospheric conditions (fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, poor ventilation). Requires sitting, walking, talking, hearing, reading, writing, keyboarding, driving, filing, reaching, stooping, crouching, bending, standing for extended periods, lifting up to 40 lbs.
