Biotech Company in Sorrento Valley is NOW HIRING - Cleanroom Production Technicians

1st and 2nd shift - $22/hr + shift differential

Job Description

As a Cleanroom Technician, you will be responsible for kitting, filling, and packaging operations. You will kit manufactured cartridges, prepare them for shipment, and ensure quality control throughout the process. This role requires working in a temperature-controlled setting due to the nature of products being shipped across the US and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Perform kitting assembly operations.
• Conduct filling operations ensuring the right product is in the correct area of the flow cell.
• Operate process equipment such as balances, pneumatic presses, pumps, and heat sealers.
• Follow detailed work instructions housed in a cloud-based application.
• Operate a heat sealing machine to seal flow cells with foil, ensuring no damage occurs.
• Align flow cells correctly in labeling machines to ensure accurate QR code, lot number, and batch information.
• Trim excess foil using designated machinery.

Essential Skills

• Experience in assembly and cleanroom environments.
• Proficiency in packaging and filling operations.
• Previous manufacturing experience is preferred.
• Strong communication skills and a team player mindset.
• Ability to use Outlook and Microsoft Teams.
• Experience with laboratory inspection, batch records, labeling, filling, and visual inspection.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Comfortable leading a fill and pack line.
• Willingness to learn or experience with small volume aliquoting (less than 1mL).
• Manufacturing experience is preferred.

Work Environment

This position is for 1st shift, from 6am to 2:30pm and 2:00pm - 10:30pm. Initially, new hires will work from 9am to 5pm during their first week. The role is based in a cleanroom environment, requiring lab coats, shoe covers, hair nets, and safety glasses. Contractors will eventually relocate to the manufacturing site in San Diego, CA, starting in October. Overtime expectations are currently low, with a team average of about 8%. Adherence to the attendance policy is essential, with new hires unable to miss more than one day in the first 30 days.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, CA.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
