Don Juan Cigar Store Assoc. (Baton Rouge)

This position is part time only.

Summary of duties: Retail inside sales within one of the tobacco stores owned by Don Juan's Cigar Company.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following: Additional duties, which are necessary to carry out the function of the Cigar Store Associate position may be assigned and are incorporated by reference into this job description. All personnel within this job description shall be subject to cross-training into jobs within the organization based on Company needs.

• Responsible for handling and operating a cash register
• Responsible for maintaining the humidor and additional store fixtures
• Responsible for preparing and making monetary bank deposits
• Responsible for opening and closing the retail store in accordance with policy (checklist)
• Responsible for keeping the store clean, orderly, and presentable for retail conditions
• Responsible for merchandising in-store products by pricing, refilling inventory, and organizing based on the needs of the store
• Maintain correct inventory quantities based on policy and/or directive
• Provide friendly customer service
• Responsible for maintaining current knowledge relative to premium cigars, news, and terminology
• Responsible for assisting with in-store and off-site event and promotions
• Responsible for being able to assist other stores when needed

Supervisory responsibilities: None

Physical demands: The physical demands of this job include light physical activity performing sometimes repetitive activities of an administrative, productive and/or technical nature that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The employee must regularly sit, talk or hear, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands or arms. The employee must occasionally stand, walk and stoop and kneel.

The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Vision requirements of this job include close vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those and employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Restaurant and bar/lounge atmosphere.

The noise level of the work environment is moderate.
