Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with adult critical care and ED experience for a night shift position rotating between acute and long-term care settings.

Details

• Rotates between acute care and long-term care (LTC) settings
• Adult critical care and emergency department environment
• Patient diagnoses include CHF, COPD, pneumonia, respiratory failure, and respiratory infections
• Patient ratio of 1:20
• Special procedures include ABG sampling, ventilator management, patient assessment, and pulmonary hygiene
• Equipment used includes Hamilton Vent, Servo-U Vent, NKV330 (NIV device), AIRVO2, Dream Machines, and V30s
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:00
• Every other weekend required
• On-call required approximately one night every other week (nights preferred)

Requirements

• Active RRT credential required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience
• Adult critical care experience required
• Emergency department experience required
• Proficiency with airway management including endotracheal tube/suctioning, extubation, intubation assist, nasal and oral airway placement, oropharyngeal suctioning, sputum specimen collection, and tracheostomy/suctioning
• Experience with nebulizer therapy (handheld, T-piece, trach collar) and oxygen therapy modalities including HFNC, bag and mask, ET tube, T-piece, and trach collar
• Ventilator management skills including BiPAP, CPAP, troubleshooting high-pressure alarms, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• License required if applicable
• 2 professional supervisor references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration

Additional Information

• Scrub color requirement: any shade of gray or a gray/black combination
• All time-off and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration
• 13-week contract
