Job Description
Instrument Picker

We are seeking a dedicated professional with case cart experience to assist in the preparation of instruments for surgical and procedural cases. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are accurately selected and managed for optimal patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Notify the supervisor upon arrival by calling View phone number on click.appcast.io.
• Change into surgical scrubs upon arrival; scrub jackets from outside are not permitted.
• Return scrubs to the linen hamper next to the blue scrub cart after your shift.
• Maintain hygiene standards by wearing hairnets and shoe covers; earbuds are not allowed during work.
• Utilize badge access to enter required areas; report any issues with badge access to obtain a temporary badge.
• Learn instrument picking techniques from the supervisor, if not previously trained.
• After completing instrument picking, perform the following tasks:



• Check for missing instruments on the carts and locate them as needed.
• Organize carts according to the order of surgeries scheduled.
• Scan and stock items from the put-away shelves into their usual locations.
• Identify missing materials based on the case cart pick list, focusing on circled items that were not found, and stock the carts accordingly.
• Assist in restocking returned supplies as instructed by materials personnel.
• Scan all trays and instruments to ensure they are checked into the cart, maintaining accurate tracking for health and safety compliance.

Qualifications:

• Prior experience with case cart procedures and instrument picking required.
• Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively with surgical team members.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure all instruments and materials are accounted for and organized.
