Key Responsibilities of the Level 1 RN Psych ER

• Conduct intake assessments through interviews with patients and relatives
• Plan and provide nursing care for patients
• Make nursing diagnoses and recommend treatment options
• Consult with psychiatrists and other behavioral health staff
• Administer and note reactions to psychotropic drugs and other medications
• Arrange further medical attention when necessary
• Assist clients in understanding their emotional disturbances
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for staff and patients
• Test for vital signs and ensure treatments for pain
• Document patient information and follow physician's written orders
• Maintain patient confidentiality and accurate records
• Perform administrative assignments as required
• Provide high-quality service to patients and the public

Requirements of the Level 1 RN Psych ER

• NY License ONLY
• BLS Certification (AHA) ONLY
• Minimum 2 years of experience
