divh2Technical Services Technician/h2pAs part of the Technical Services department within CAEs Civil Training and Services division, perform all preventative and corrective maintenance tasks on several CAE and non-CAE flight simulators and associated devices at the CAE Montreal Training Center./ph3Responsibilities:/h3ulliProvide real-time phone support to address technical issues on training center flight simulators./liliPrepare the simulator for customer training, including performing pre-flight tests./liliExecute recurring scheduled preventive maintenance tasks./liliPerform aircraft validation tests (QTG) and create/restore system/computer disk backups./liliDiagnose and resolve complex simulator deficiencies in a timely manner./liliIdentify and replace defective simulator components./liliValidate snag fixes directly on the simulator device./liliMaintain and document configuration control of both software and hardware elements./liliWork within C/Unix and Windows environments to step through code modules, identify root causes, and propose strong leads and hypotheses for resolution./liliRead and interpret electrical and electro-mechanical drawings and design documents./liliDefine technical problems, collect and analyze data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions./liliApply aircraft/systems knowledge to execute hands-on fixes on Full Flight Simulators./liliLog all work regularly, objectively, and formally in a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)./liliUpdate technical documentation and procedures when required./liliParticipate in technical training courses and on-the-job learning./liliLead and execute projects to improve and ensure smooth operations of the training center./li/ulh3Minimum Qualifications:/h3ulliDEC in Electronic, Computer Science, Aircraft Maintenance, or equivalent./liliRelated experience in software and electronic modification/manipulation./liliKnowledge of Windows, Unix, C, C++, and scripting languages./liliFamiliarity with basic electronic theory, principles, and electronic testing equipment./liliExcellent communication skills (verbal and written) in French and English./li/ulh3Preferred Qualifications:/h3ulliKnowledge of CAE software and applications (CAELIB, STARTEAM, visual systems, SIM XXI architecture)./liliUnderstanding of hardware/software interactions as they relate to aviation simulation./liliAeronautical knowledge, including avionics, flight dynamics, aircraft systems, and simulated systems experience./li/ulh3Physical Efforts:/h3pThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
