Does that sound like you? The Opportunity with McKinstry McKinstry is looking for a Social Impact Project Specialist – Opportunity & Belonging to join our Social Impact team in Seattle, WA . The S ocial Impact Project Specialist – Opportunity & Belonging provides project, program, communications, and operational support for McKinstry’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion work. This role helps advance initiatives that strengthen inclusion and belonging, support employee engagement, expand equitable access to opportunity, and reinforce McKinstry’s commitment to creating respectful and inclusive workplaces across offices, jobsites, teams, and communities.Additional responsiblites may include: Project Support & Enablement Provide program support for Social Impact initiatives focused on employee resource groups, workforce belonging, industry exposure, inclusive leadership, and community partnerships. Coordinate logistics for Opportunity & Belonging initiatives such as schedules, meeting materials, participant communications, facilitator support, registration, accessibility considerations, supplies, and day-of execution. Own discrete pieces of project scope as assigned; track deliverables, manage follow-up items, and help ensure Opportunity & Belonging work is completed within expected timelines. Contribute to program experiences that are welcoming, accessible, well-organized, and aligned with the needs of employees, leaders, partners, and participants. Attends, and leads, events (including after-hour and weekend events) including, but not limited to – partner meetings, school presentations, site visits, shop engagement, and office tours. Manages confidential and sensitive information with high-level of discretion. Collaboration & Communication Draft, edit, proofread, and coordinate communications such as program updates, employee messages, leader communications, learning reminders, event invitations, newsletters, presentations, reports, and resource materials. Help translate team goals, activities, and outcomes into clear, practical, and compelling content for employees, leaders, partners, and participants. Gather stories, photos, quotes, feedback, participation data, and examples that demonstrate belonging, employee engagement, and inclusive culture in action. Create polished written and visual materials that reflect McKinstry’s voice, values, and commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. Collaborate with Alliance (ERG) leaders, employee volunteers, internal teams, community partners, and industry organizations, to support Social Impact program delivery and relationship management. Support McKinstry Alliances and other employee engagement communities by helping coordinate events, coordinate meetings, prepare agendas and materials, take notes, document decisions, and track action items for programs and projects. Follow up on assignments and provide clear and consistent progress reports to manager. Process Enablement Tracks, reviews, and maintains program data to measure success. Creates and maintains contact lists for partners and programs. Monitors internal platforms (Sharepoint, PowerBI, etc.) for accuracy and completeness. Schedules and supports meetings; ensures tracking and follow-up of resulting action items. Champions and executes McKinstry processes and procedures to enhance business and team productivity; supports implementation of department SOPs. Performs other duties as assigned. What You Need To Succeed at McKinstry: 2-4 years of experience in corporate social impact, DEI, employee engagement, community partnerships, project coordination, program management, or related work. Post‑secondary degree, credential, or equivalent combination of education and work experience. Experience working with youth programs and diverse communities. A team-player mindset with the ability to work independently. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage details, deadlines, communications, and multiple priorities simultaneously. Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft thoughtful and professional communications for different audiences. Ability to approach sensitive topics with discretion, cultural humility, curiosity, care, and sound judgment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint; experience with Power BI, survey tools, or project management tools desired. Ability to collaborate respectfully across teams, roles, regions, identities, and stakeholder groups in a national, non-hierarchical organization. Ability to travel regularly both regionally and nationally. Ability to provide personal transportation for meetings and job visits away from the office; mileage reimbursed. Minimum 3-4 days working in a McKinstry office required, with additional in-office days possible based on business need. The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $45.00 per hour; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is considered non-exempt and will be paid hourly. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
