Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid Virginia Special Education Teacher License (VA SPED) required
- Previous experience in elementary special education, especially self-contained adaptive settings, preferred
- Passion for developing individualized instructional strategies for diverse learning needs
- Ability to effectively collaborate with paraprofessionals and support staff as needed
- Strong organizational and communication skills
Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, adaptive curriculum to elementary students in a self-contained classroom
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in alignment with student goals
- Monitor student progress and maintain thorough documentation
- Communicate regularly with families, specialists, and multidisciplinary teams
- Foster a nurturing and structured learning environment
