As a full member of the WVU Health System(WVUHS), Weirton Medical Center (WMC) is part of a broad, integrated network of doctors, hospitals, clinics, and specialized institutes across West Virginia, Southwestern Pennsylvania, Western Maryland, and Ohio.WMCis in the Northern panhandle of WV andservesnot only West Virginia butEasternOhio andthesuburbs of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Wheeling Hospital currently has two full-time Neurosurgeons, focusing on spine care and general neurosurgery.This position would align closely with the practice based inWheeling andcould potentially provide some call coverage at Wheeling as they pursue level 2 trauma status.

The WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute (RNI) is a comprehensive multidisciplinary patient care, education, and research institute providing neurological and mental healthcare through more than 300,000 visits annually. The 300+ physicians and scientists of the RNI improve lives by pioneering advances in neuroscience, brain health, and therapeutics. Duties: Thesuccessful candidate will practicein the area ofgeneral neurosurgerywith a heavy focus on spine care. All RNIcommunity-basedneurosurgeons are expected to cover eight nights ofcallper month.

Qualifications: Candidate must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for state medical licensure. Successful candidatemusthave completedneurosurgery residency program and beboardeligible/certified in neurosurgery. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.
