Assistant General ManagerShare Apply Full-time $45,000.00 - 55,000.00 per yearAn Assistant General Manager/Chef de Patisserie is responsible for assisting the General Manager in ensuring Bakehouse is consistently operating at peak performance. Responsible to uphold high quality pastry dishes with the recipes and presentations to maintain quality standards and consistency of product. Also assist in the creation and production of new desserts to renew our menus while maintaining par levels of pastry and dessert with proper rotation of products and maintain highest cleanliness and hygiene standard in the Bakehouse.Duties & ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include preparing quality pastry items such as breakfast items, desserts, cookies, cakes, breads, creams, simple syrups, amenities, and special request itemsCreate, develop and design new and exciting desserts along with the General Manager for the varying seasons to engage the interest of our guestsMaintain complete knowledge of correct use of equipment; use equipment and tools only as intended, properly and safelyAssist with receiving orders and rotation of raw ingredients and back stock levelsOversee the Bakehouse team and ensure team members are following recipes and yield guides, according to departmental standardsInform the General Manager of any supplies that need to be requisitionedCheck production schedule and parsInform General Manager of any foreseeable shortages before items run outMaintain proper storage procedures as specified by Health Department and Common Bond requirementsEstablish priority items for the dayCheck quality of material and condition of equipment and devices used for cookingMinimize wasteMaintain a clean and sanitary work environmentTrain staff to standard performance levels as well as motivate the team to work more efficientlyKnowledge of all production in pastry kitchenManage team members fairly and take a personal interest in knowing all team membersCoach and counsel team members in a timely manner and in accordance with company policyIdentify staffing needs and help recruit and train personnelAssist the General Manager with all new hire needs and ensuring new hires are compliant with their documentation prior to startingAid the General Manager in administrative duties including but not limited to: ordering, customer service needs, responding to manager store needs, and organization of the BakehouseCommunicate with storefronts, company leadership, and outside vendors as neededAdditional duties as assignedQualificationsMaintain and uphold the standard of a professional restaurant image, including kitchen cleanliness, proper uniforms, and appearance standardsKnowledge of different types of pastry, dessert, and cake decoratingA Food Handler's Card & Food Manager's Certificate where required by local and state health code regulationsMust always be able to work an 8-hour shift standing upAbility to lift up to 50 lbs.Required Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesCreativity, culinary aptitude and a passion for working with foodExperience as Pastry Chef, baker, or relevant roleExperience with job duties that include ordering, inventory, scheduling, training, delegatingProficient with computer processes including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), Outlook, OneDriveAbility to learn quickly with great attention to detailAbility to understand and carry out oral & written instructions and request clarification if neededAbility to work as part of a team and cultivate a culture of teamworkAbility to build and maintain relationshipsAbility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidaysAble to lead and mentor a teamBilingual, fluent in English and SpanishReports to: General ManagerWork schedule8 hour shiftWeekend availabilityMonday to FridayHolidaysDay shiftNight shift10 hour shiftBenefitsHealth insuranceEmployee discountPaid trainingCommon Bond Cafe - Spring 21620 Kuykendahl Rd, Spring, TX 77379, USA Apply
