Warehouse Manager

Position Overview:

We are seeking for a hands-on Warehouse Manager for our 2nd shift (3:00pm to midnight) to lead all inbound, outbound, and inventory operations in a fast-paced distribution center. This role is responsible for driving safety, productivity, and accuracy while building a high-performing team. The ideal candidate combines strong systems experience with proven leadership and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

Operations Leadership

• Oversee all 2nd shift warehouse activities including receiving, put-away, picking, packing, shipping, and cycle counting.
• Plan staffing, assign work, and adjust labor based on volume to meet daily KPIs for productivity, accuracy, and on-time shipping.
• Ensure all inbound and outbound loads are processed accurately, on time, and in compliance with customer requirements.
• Maintain inventory integrity through regular cycle counts, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.

People Management & Development

• Lead, coach, and mentor a team of 50+ associates, including leads, clerks and forklift operators.
• Drive accountability for safety, attendance, and performance standards.
• Conduct one-on-one meetings, performance reviews, and corrective actions as needed.
• Foster a positive, inclusive culture focused on teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.
• Partner with HR on recruiting, onboarding, and training new associates.

Systems & Process Improvement

• Utilize Warehouse Management System (WMS) to direct workflow, monitor performance, and generate reports.
• Ensure proper use of handheld RF scanners and other mobile devices for real-time inventory transactions.
• Identify and implement process improvements to reduce errors, improve throughput, and optimize labor.
• Maintain compliance with SOPs, OSHA, and company safety policies.

Equipment & Facility Oversight

• Ensure safe operation of forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
• Verify operator certifications are current.
• Conduct daily walkthroughs to ensure 5S standards, housekeeping, and hazard-free work areas.
• Coordinate with maintenance on equipment issues to minimize downtime.

Qualifications Required:

• 5+ years of progressive warehouse/distribution experience with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role.
• Proven leadership and mentorship experience with ability to motivate teams on 2nd/3rd shift.
• Strong working knowledge of WMS, LMS, and RF handheld devices.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel for reporting and data analysis.
• Experience with forklift operations and OSHA safety standards.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make decisions under time constraints.
• Forklift Certification Preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to walk/stand for 8-10 hours, lift up to 50 lbs occasionally, and work in varying warehouse temperatures.
• Ability to push, pull, bend, stoop, and reach as needed to inspect operations.
• Preferred: Bilingual in English and Spanish
• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Logistics, Business, or related field. (Preferred but not required)
• Experience in high-volume appliances or 3PL distribution.
