Probate Attorney

Spencer Trial Attorneys, P.C. is seeking a Probate Attorney to join our growing team in El Paso, Texas. This is a full-time , on-site position. We are a family-owned and operated law firm committed to providing compassionate, high-quality legal representation to individuals and families throughout El Paso, West Texas, and surrounding communities. The Probate Attorney will primarily handle probate matters, including estate administrations, heirship proceedings, court filings, client meetings, and probate hearings. Additional duties may include assisting with guardianships, estate planning, wills, trusts, and general elder law matters . This role is ideal for an attorney who is professional, detail-oriented, comfortable working directly with clients, and interested in helping families navigate important legal matters with care and precision. Compensation $80,000 – $120,000 annually , depending on experience Responsibilities The Probate Attorney will: Meet with clients to discuss probate matters, estate administration, guardianships, and related legal needs Prepare, review, and file probate pleadings, applications, inventories, accountings, notices, orders, and related documents Represent clients in probate court hearings Handle heirship proceedings and related court matters Assist with guardianship matters as needed Communicate with clients, courts, opposing parties, beneficiaries, heirs, and other interested parties Help clients navigate probate matters while protecting their rights, assets, and family interests Work closely with paralegals, case managers, and firm leadership to keep cases moving efficiently Review and analyze estate documents, financial records, heirship issues, beneficiary matters, and guardianship-related issues Assist with estate planning matters, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, medical powers of attorney, advance directives, and related documents Assist with general elder law matters as needed Maintain accurate notes, deadlines, tasks, and case updates in the firm’s case management system Manage assigned caseload and meet firm performance expectations Contribute to a team culture built on accountability, consistency, professionalism, and excellent client service Qualifications The ideal candidate will have: Active Texas law license in good standing 2+ years of probate, guardianship, estate planning, elder law, or related legal experience preferred Courtroom experience preferred Ability to explain legal issues clearly and practically Excellent writing, organization, and attention to detail Ability to manage a caseload independently while working within a team environment Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus New Mexico or Arizona licensure is a plus, but not required What We’re Looking For We are looking for an attorney who is dependable, client-focused, and aligned with our firm’s commitment to professionalism, preparation, consistency, and responsibility. What We Offer Competitive base salary of $80,000–$120,000 annually, depending on experience Health insurance stipend of up to $500 per month to help offset some of the cost of individually obtained health coverage. Spencer Trial Attorneys does not currently provide employer-sponsored group health insurance. The stipend is paid as taxable compensation, with eligibility and amount subject to firm policy.
