RN - MedSurg/Tele Facility Information Located in Milledgeville, GA 140 licensed beds Level 3 Trauma Designation Unit Information Beds: 24 Census: 24 Minimum Experience Required: 2 years Med/Tele experience First-time travelers accepted: Yes Patient Types and Common Diagnoses Patients with acute or chronic diseases Post-operative surgeries Common co-morbidities: diabetes, hypertension, infections, CHF, electrolyte imbalances Patient Ratios RN: 1:4-6

LPN: 1:4-6

CNA: 2-3 per shift Licenses and Certifications Active RN License (GA) BLS (Basic Life Support) required BCR (Basic Cardiac Rhythm) required ACLS preferred but not required Medical-surgical national certification preferred but not required Required Skills Trach care, chest tube management, PIV starts, glucommander, insulin drips, heparin drips, drips titrated to heart rate (not blood pressure) Strong clinical assessment and med-surg nursing skills for Level 1 Trauma Hospital IV insertion and care, central line management Wound care and post‑op monitoring Cardiac monitoring and telemetry interpretation Care coordination with interdisciplinary teams Discharge planning and patient education Department Support CNA Duties: Assist with vital signs, glucose checks, baths, feeding, ambulating, turning patients, hourly rounding, transporting patients as needed; obtain blood from blood bank Unit secretary present Charge nurse on each unit Phlebotomy mostly performed by lab; nurses draw from CVLs No IV or VAT team Resource nurse available Respiratory therapist available 24/6 Hospitalist available 24/6 Intensivist available 24/6 Telemetry monitoring/tech support via Central Telemetry Unit Technology and Equipment EMR: EPIC IV Pump: Alaris Medication dispensing: Omnicell Monitors: Phillips Unit‑specific equipment includes VS3 vital sign monitors, Nova Glucose Stat Strips, cardiac telemetry monitoring Portable vital signs monitors (Dynamapp) Bladder scanners, IV pump, portable oxygen system Glucommander PCA pain management Suction machine Use of admission/discharge protocol for rapid turnover Floating Floating occurs across all adult med‑surg and telemetry units within the facility. Orientation 1 day orientation with educational modules 2 days departmental orientation Scheduling Weekend rotation: 5-6 weekend shifts out of 12 (on a 6-week schedule) No on‑call duties Holiday expectations: work one shift on each major holiday (Thanksgiving Day or day after, Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, New Year's Eve or New Year's Day) Return to work requests require manager approval Shift times: 12-hour shifts (7 AM - 7 PM or 7 PM - 7 AM) Schedule cycle example: every 6 weeks Additional Information Scrub colors: RN - Navy; LPN - Ceil Blue Free parking available Unit culture: busy but team-oriented #J-18808-Ljbffr SoftPath Medical
