Job Title: Emergency Room Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Nurse, Registered Nurse Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 2 years hospital nursing experience preferred; 1 year Emergency Department or Critical Care Nursing experience preferred License: Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification required Current Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification required Current STABLE certification required Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required Must-Have: Legally authorized to work in the United States Successful completion of a background check Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen Completion of an Employee Health meeting prior to starting employment Description: To coordinate and implement an individualized plan of care for each patient using the nursing process. Practicing within scope, standards, policies, values, and mission of the organization. Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources. Requires prioritization and critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment. Complies with triage, treatment, evaluation, and documentation guidelines. Uses evidence-based practices and competence to collaborate with the healthcare team to provide quality outcomes and coordinate patient care. Coordinates patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs. Identifies barriers to effective communication based on psychosocial, literacy, financial, and cultural considerations. Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstance. Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel. May precept student nurses and new hires. Practices according to professional and ethical standards as noted in the Code of Ethics. Demonstrates caring attitudes and behaviors to develop therapeutic relationships. Engages in patient and family teaching as appropriate. Demonstrates full commitment to organization values. Establishes and maintains effective verbal and written communication. Fosters positive working relationships with patients, staff, and vendors.
