Responsibilities
- Assist with docking and undocking vessels by handling lines, mooring equipment, and dockside operations.
- Load, unload, and transport materials, tools, and equipment throughout the facility.
- Operate forklifts, skid steers, and other material handling equipment as required.
- Support ship repair, maintenance, and construction projects through general labor assistance.
- Perform housekeeping duties to maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
- Inspect dock equipment and report any maintenance or safety concerns.
- Assist rigging crews with lifting and moving heavy materials.
- Participate in emergency response and spill containment activities when necessary.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous experience in shipyard, marine, dockside, construction, industrial, or warehouse environments is preferred.
- Ability to safely operate forklifts and other industrial equipment is a plus.
- Basic understanding of workplace safety practices.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Capable of standing, walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, and working on uneven surfaces for extended periods.
- Comfortable working around water, heavy equipment, and industrial machinery.
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and varying shifts as operational needs require.
- Marine or shipyard experience, rigging and line-handling skills, forklift certification, and familiarity with OSHA safety standards are advantageous.
