Position Summary The Senior Production Manager is responsible for achieving annual objectives for Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) across production operations. This role provides leadership for manufacturing operations, including work order execution, product manufacturing, raw material flow, sterile processing, final packout, finished goods management, and shipping. The Senior Production Manager leads Lean transformation through the education and engagement of direct and indirect reports, the application of visual management and standard work, and disciplined root-cause problem solving. Working closely with the Director of Operations and cross-functional partners, this role develops and executes strategies that meet customer requirements while driving operational excellence and continuous improvement in production performance. By utilizing servant leadership principles-respect for people, humility, accountability, and leading by example-the Senior Production Manager fosters a positive, safe, and high-performing culture that actively engages employees in the continuous improvement of Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost. This role requires onsite work 5 days/week in Sharon Hill, PA. The schedule is M-F 7:30am-4:30pm. Occasional overtime will be required. This role is not eligible for Visa Sponsorship or H1B Transfer. #LI-BB1 Pay range for this opportunity is $116,237.50 - $150,425.00. This position is eligible for bonus participation. Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. - Under the direction of the Director of Operations, lead and manage the production operations team, including Department Managers, Supervisors, Team Leads, and other support personnel, ensuring alignment with Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) objectives.
- Own and drive overall production performance from work order release and raw material availability through manufacturing execution, sterile processing, final packout, finished goods management, and shipping.
- Collaborate with cross-functional leaders and support departments to ensure operations are conducted safely, efficiently, and in accordance with customer requirements and business objectives.
- Lead talent management and organizational development efforts by identifying, developing, and retaining high-performing employees while creating growth, training, and succession planning opportunities.
- Achieve operational results through effective leadership, coaching, performance management, and the establishment of meaningful and measurable performance goals.
- Balance business needs with employee engagement by overseeing performance reviews, workforce planning, recruitment and hiring activities, compensation recommendations, scheduling, employee relations, and conflict resolution.
- Partner closely with Production Planning to develop, communicate, and execute production schedules that support customer demand and operational objectives.
- Provide leadership and decision-making for quality, productivity, equipment reliability, process performance, labor utilization, and continuous operational improvement.
- Ensure inventory accuracy through effective inventory control processes, cycle count execution, material management practices, and review of inventory performance metrics.
- Maintain a safe work environment by establishing, promoting, and enforcing policies, procedures, and behaviors that support world-class safety performance and the STERIS culture.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable internal and external regulatory requirements, including FDA, OSHA, EPA, ISO, Homeland Security, and STERIS requirements. Maintain awareness of changing regulations and implement monitoring and auditing processes to verify compliance.
- Support new product introduction and product transfer activities by providing manufacturing leadership, operational expertise, and resource planning as required.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives by applying Lean manufacturing principles, visual management, standard work, problem-solving methodologies, and employee engagement strategies to drive sustainable operational improvements.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by evaluating manufacturing processes, investigating process deviations, audit findings, customer complaints, and performance trends, and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
- Lead, coach, develop, and inspire production teams to achieve operational objectives while maintaining high levels of accountability, engagement, teamwork, and employee morale.
- Build strong cross-functional relationships that promote collaboration, communication, and alignment across departments to support plant and business goals.
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Seven (7) to (10) years working in a manufacturing environment.
- Five (5) to (7) years supervisory experience
- Five (5) years Lean Operations experience.
- Five (5) years working in regulated environment within the drug and or medical device industry.
- Direct profit and loss accountability experience.
- Long term orientation with ability to influence and collaborate with others.
- Effective interpersonal and influence management skills to interact with cross-functional team members.
- Self-directed take charge leader that strives for continuous improvement of process and results of self and team.
- Solid analytical and organizational skills.
