Information Security Analyst II

About the Role Our client requires a motivated Information Security Analyst II to join their dedicated security team based in Paarl. This role is integral to the ongoing protection of the company's information assets by monitoring systems, analyzing security events, and responding to threats. You will work closely with other IT professionals to implement and maintain security measures, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of critical data. The ideal candidate possesses a strong technical foundation in cybersecurity and a proactive approach to threat detection and prevention within the Information Security field. Key Responsibilities Monitor security systems and networks for potential threats and anomalies. Analyze security alerts and logs to identify and investigate security incidents. Perform incident response activities, including containment, eradication, and recovery. Assist in the deployment and configuration of security tools and technologies. Contribute to the development and maintenance of security policies and procedures. Support vulnerability management activities and assist in remediation efforts. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience. 2-4 years of experience in Information Security or a related IT security role. Familiarity with security concepts, including network security, endpoint security, and common attack vectors. Experience with security monitoring tools (e.g., SIEM, IDS/IPS) is a plus.
