- Implement treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist to improve residents' functional abilities
- Provide direct patient care in accordance with state regulations and facility policies
- Monitor and document patient progress, reporting changes to the supervising Occupational Therapist
- Educate residents and caregivers on adaptive techniques and equipment
- Collaborate with nursing staff, physical therapists, speech therapists, and other healthcare professionals
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record system
- Participate in care planning meetings and contribute to discharge planning
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including HIPAA and CMS guidelines
- Associate's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Current certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
- Valid state license to practice as a Occupational Therapy Assistant
- Previous experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to patient-centered care and rehabilitation excellence
