Job Description This position requires you to have a state phlebotomy license. (Quest does not accept NHA licenses in CA, WA, NV). Phlebotomist II Float – Santee, CA, Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM to 5:30 PM and 1 week of 24‑hour on‑call per month, with rotational weekends In a Phlebotomy float role we offer a variety in work where no two days will quite look the same. Pay range: $26.60 – $31.65 per hour Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organisational factors are also considered. Successful candidates may be eligible to receive an annual performance‑bonus compensation. $2,000 sign‑on bonus will be available for external hires. Responsibilities Assigned a territory to cover phlebotomy duties within a patient service centre, doctor's office or as business needs dictate Draw quality blood samples from patients and prepare those specimens for lab testing Collect specimens according to established procedures – including, but not limited to: drug screens, biometric screening and insurance exams Enter billing information and collect payment when required Coach, mentor, instruct and be a resource adviser for new employees; act as point of contact to staff on site and provide regular input to the group lead or supervisor Travel to additional doctor's offices or patient service centres when needed Qualifications Required Education High school diploma or equivalent. Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred. Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada and Washington. Work Experience Three years of phlebotomy experience required, inclusive of paediatric, geriatric and capillary collections. Minimum two years in a patient service centre environment preferred. Customer service in a retail or service environment preferred. Keyboard/data‑entry experience. The position requires the ability to effectively communicate in English.
