Capital Medical Group is a newly acquired physician practice group within Independence Physician Management (IPM), a subsidiary of UHS. We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Medical Assistant to support our Dermatology practice and provide high-quality clinical and administrative support to patients and providers.

Qualifications

The Medical Assistant - provides clinical and administrative support to physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and patients in a clinic setting. This position supports efficient patient flow, prepares patients for examinations and procedures, obtains and documents clinical information, and assists the care team in delivering safe, timely, and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage patient flow, room patients, and prepare them for examinations and procedures.
• Obtain and document vital signs, medications, medical history, and other required information in the EMR.
• Assist providers with examinations, dermatologic procedures, testing, and specimen collection as permitted.
• Prepare and maintain exam rooms, equipment, instruments, and clinical supplies.
• Support medication reconciliation and assist with medications or injections when appropriately authorized, supervised, and permitted.
• Provide provider-directed patient instructions and communicate concerns or abnormal findings to the appropriate clinical staff.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA, infection prevention, safety, organizational, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Perform other clinical and administrative duties as assigned within the Medical Assistant's permitted scope of practice.

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduation from an accredited or approved Medical Assistant program required.

Certification

• Current BLS/CPR/AED certification required.
• Certification and Registration as a Medical Assistant required.

Experience

• Minimum of one year of Medical Assistant experience required.
• Experience in Dermatology or another procedural specialty preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to frequently stand, walk, bend, twist, and reach in a healthcare environment.
• Ability to assist with patient positioning and mobility as required.
• Ability to occasionally lift or carry and frequently push or pull up to 100 pounds as required by the role.
• Ability to work in healthcare environments that may require personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Manual dexterity sufficient to operate computers, medical equipment, and other equipment required for the position.
