Sales Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate, and supervise the sales team to achieve individual and store sales goals through effective coaching and training.
• Develop and implement strategic sales plans to expand customer base and increase revenue streams.
• Oversee daily store operations including inventory management, merchandising, pricing, and POS (Point of Sale) systems.
• Conduct employee orientation, interviewing, onboarding, and ongoing training to ensure team members are knowledgeable about products and customer service standards.
• Manage scheduling, shift management, and cash handling procedures to ensure smooth store functioning.
• Monitor retail math metrics such as sales per square foot, average transaction value, and inventory turnover to optimize store performance.
• Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints promptly, and ensure an outstanding shopping experience for all visitors.
• Collaborate with marketing teams on promotional campaigns and merchandising strategies to boost store visibility.
• Maintain accurate records of payroll, bookkeeping, inventory control, purchasing, and budgeting activities.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, health & safety regulations, and store standards at all times.

Experience

• Proven management experience in retail sales or a similar supervisory role with demonstrated success in team leadership.
• Strong background in retail math, inventory management, merchandising, pricing strategies, and POS systems.
• Excellent negotiation skills coupled with effective communication skills for coaching staff and engaging customers.
• Experience with employee orientation, interviewing techniques, training & development programs.
• Multilingual or bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse customer bases effectively.
• Familiarity with payroll processing, bookkeeping practices, cash handling procedures, and inventory control systems.
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, perform retail math calculations accurately, and oversee store operations efficiently.
• Prior assistant manager or supervisory experience in grocery stores or retail environments is preferred but not mandatory.

Pay: $51,653.51 - $62,206.38 per year
