Production Planner Medical Manufacturing Technologies LLC St. George, Utah, United States About this position Production Planner Location: St. George, Utah Onsite Position Schedule: Monday to Friday 8:00AM to 4:00PM Build the Plan That Keeps Production Moving MMT is looking for a Production Planner to join our manufacturing team in St. George, Utah. This is a hands‑on planning role for someone who enjoys solving problems, coordinating across teams, and making sure materials, capacity, and production schedules come together to meet customer commitments. Our St. George operation specializes in automation, machine design, material handling, and custom tooling. As our Production Planner, you will play an important role in keeping our Machine Shop and Assembly operations on schedule. You will work closely with Production, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Sales to anticipate constraints, address bottlenecks, and keep manufacturing priorities aligned with customer demand. What You’ll Do As a Production Planner, you will: Develop and maintain production schedules for Machine Shop and Assembly operations based on customer orders, sales forecasts, available capacity, and production priorities. Plan and schedule workloads across manufacturing work centers to support on‑time completion of customer orders. Review and release planned production orders, verifying BOM accuracy, material availability, routing, and capacity before release. Monitor production progress and proactively identify scheduling risks, capacity constraints, material shortages, and potential bottlenecks. Adjust schedules and priorities when production conditions change to minimize delays and maintain customer commitments. Analyze production specifications, plant capacity, manufacturing processes, tooling requirements, and resource needs to support effective production planning. Review routings and manufacturing sequences for assembly, installation, machining, and other production operations. Create production orders, post materials, and close completed jobs within the ERP system. Analyze bills of material, technical specifications, drawings, scopes, and related documentation to develop manageable production plans. Communicate production status, priorities, risks, and schedule changes to key stakeholders across the organization. Prepare production output reports and present planning updates during weekly Production Meetings. Participate in weekly Sales and Operations reviews to discuss upcoming machine sales, demand, capacity, and plant stock manufacturing orders. Expedite operations when necessary to address delays and keep critical projects moving. Partner with team members across departments to continuously improve production planning processes and execution. What We’re Looking For The ideal candidate brings a combination of manufacturing knowledge, analytical thinking, organization, and strong communication skills. Preferred qualifications include: 1–3 years of experience in production planning, manufacturing scheduling, materials planning, operations, or a related manufacturing role. Associate or bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Manufacturing, Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred. Relevant experience may be considered in place of a degree. Experience working with ERP/MRP systems. Experience with Epicor or Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is strongly preferred. Understanding of production scheduling, capacity planning, work centers, routings, BOMs, and manufacturing processes. Ability to read and interpret technical, schematic, and assembly drawings. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to identify issues before they impact production. Excellent attention to detail with a focus on accuracy, quality, and follow‑through. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage changing priorities in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. Clear and confident written and verbal communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, Sales, and other cross‑functional teams. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn new systems and technology. You should be comfortable balancing multiple priorities while keeping an eye on the details that can affect materials, capacity, schedules, and ultimately our customers. This position is primarily based in an office environment within our St. George, Utah manufacturing facility, with regular interaction with production operations. Occasional travel may be required between MMT facilities, including locations in Utah and California, as well as customer, vendor, or other MMT locations. The position primarily involves working at a computer for extended periods. Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds may be required to support production or inventory activities.
