Other duties may be assigned and required.Oversee and direct maintenance associates in a safe, quality minded, and productive manner with a sense of urgency to attain production priorities as scheduledFill in for the Asst. Maintenance Manager in his/her absenceHold daily pre-shift meetings on assigned shift with associates. Visits other pre-shift meetings in the department to provide feedback and supportCommunicate with maintenance leadership and other plant personnel about maintenance concerns; provide status reports as appropriateAssist in the implementations and improvement of effective preventive maintenance programs for all plant equipmentSupport efforts to achieve department and plant goals on Employee Opinion SurveyConduct performance evaluations on associates that are tied to plant and company goals and provides regular feedback on work performance, utilizing individual corrective action plans if necessary. Apply consistent and fair progressive discipline to associates when necessary and discuss such action with appropriate personnelEnsure all documentation is maintained, including associate documentationWork with vendors and/or contractors, display company values of honesty and integrityLead the department in design and development of improving methods and equipment through continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principlesPerform maintenance duties as requiredFollow and support LMV’s and Magna’s operating principles & Employee CharterExemplify a Safety First approach by obeying safety rules and procedures, wear PPE at all times and immediately address all safety concerns. Promote an environment where zero injuries is the expected standardSupport quality and environmental policiesMay be required to adjust shifts as necessarySupervisory Responsibilities: Direct responsibility for maintenance area leaders and associatesEducation and/or Experience:Must have high school diploma or GEDPrefer a two year associates degree or higher in a related fieldPrefer three years of supervisory experienceKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:Knowledge of PLC, ladder logic, robotic interfaces and programmingMust have good organizational and managerial skills to attend to multiple tasks simultaneouslyMust be proficient in computer applicationsMust exhibit high integrity and honestyAbility to read, write, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, diagrams, requirements and business correspondencesAbility to effectively and appropriately present information and respond to questions from various groupsAbility to apply advanced mathematical concepts as appropriateAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusionsPhysical Demands:Able to lift up to 75lbsWalking, bending, kneeling and standing frequentlyAble to use the step ladder and work in elevated heightsAwareness, Unity, Empowerment:At Magna, we believe that a diverse workforce is critical to our success.
