Human Resources (HR) Manager

Reporting to the CEO, the HR Manager partners closely with various leadership teams to develop and implement effective human resource programs, including talent acquisition, organizational development, training, performance management and compensation. Leads and executes on all recruitment, employee engagement, employee relations and related HR functions. Essential Job Functions Partner with the leadership team to ensure the culture aligns with the organization’s mission, vision, and values. Lead all HR‑related activities and collaborate with organizational leaders as a management team member. Lead the local HR team to ensure HR processes and practices align with company standards, oversee talent acquisition including recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding of all employees and contracted staff. Collaborate with corporate partners to leverage resources, communicate, and support employees on all HR topics. Develop, implement, and execute world‑class onboarding and retention strategies. Ensure compliance with all Federal and local regulations (e.g., FMLA, OSHA, ADA, Joint Commission, CMS, state and local laws) to mitigate risk. Develop, implement, administer, and maintain benefit programs, policies, and procedures; ensure they meet employee needs, comply with legal requirements, and are cost‑effective. Assist in managing the learning management system and website; train employees and troubleshoot questions. Coordinate and administer the annual performance evaluation process. Partner with leadership to identify emerging leaders and facilitate leadership development programs. Manage the compensation function: plan, develop, and implement new and revised compensation programs, policies, and procedures aligned with market and company goals. Partner with finance to ensure payroll compliance with government regulations (e.g., FLSA, NRLB). Facilitate and manage all employee relations. Project professional demeanor and appearance; protect confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA policies; report suspected violations. Review policies, procedures, and programs for continuous process improvement. Partner with the company legal counsel to negotiate HR contracts and ensure regulatory compliance. Oversee, manage, and develop the HR team for career progression. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications, Knowledge & Ability Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred. 5 years’ experience leading HR with a strong focus on partnerships supporting leadership, employee engagement, employee relations, talent acquisition and service delivery. PHR certification or SHRM Certified Professional (CP/SCP) preferred. 5 years of previous leadership experience in healthcare required. Previous healthcare background required. Continuing education relevant to the role. Demonstrated knowledge of HR concepts, practices, and procedures. Strong planning, prioritization, and organization skills. Knowledge of employee investigation protocols. Ability to measure and track HR KPIs. Knowledge of state, federal, and accrediting body regulations related to healthcare. Lead and participate in goal‑setting and educational activities for self and others. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong customer service skills. Strong interpersonal skills and modeling professionalism. Understanding and application of policies and procedures. Problem‑solving skills with an understanding of opportunities. Effective communication with diverse professional, educational, and lifestyle backgrounds. Ability to manage priorities and deadlines and remain flexible with assignments. Ability to partner with people effectively, patiently, and professionally. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive HR information. Work independently and in a team; assume responsibility for timely completion of duties. Exercise sound judgment, seeking advice when appropriate. Skilled relationship management across multiple stakeholders. Strong computer skills; Microsoft Office proficiency. Strong HRIS knowledge (ADP and Ultimate Software/UKG a plus).
