Extended Job Title Charge Nurse (RN) Position Description Employees in this classification are responsible for nursing care at a unit of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. Implements unit objectives and administrative policies. This position is under clinical supervision of the Unit Director of Nurses. Requisition ID 41354BR Optional Attachments Professional/Personal Reference Travel Required None Pay Grade Maximum Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected Major/Essential Functions Makes daily assignments as appropriate and ensures all daily assignments are accomplished. Communicates patient data using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) to support decision-making to improve patient care. Assists with or performs exams and procedures and documents intervention in EMR. Administer or assist with administration and documentation of medication. Supports the goal of the unit by attending meetings and sharing the information with the staff in regular staff meetings. Quality Assurance (QA) activities and audits. Maintains documentation for standards of care and compliance with policies. Job evaluations and disciplinary actions. Accurate record keeping of employee performance. Other duties as assigned. In addition to the base position compensation, we offer shift differential pay for night and weekend shifts: Registered Nurse Shift Differential: Day Shift Employees: Earn an extra $4.00 per hour for shifts worked on Saturday and Sunday. Night Shift Employees: Earn an extra $4.00 per hour for shifts worked Monday through Friday. Earn an extra $8.00 per hour for shifts worked on Saturday and Sunday. Grant Funded? Required Qualifications Graduate from an accredited nursing program. Two years of nursing experience, with at least 6 months of that experience as a Registered Nurse. Possession of a valid, current RN license as approved by the Texas State Board of Examiners.
