HR Operations Coordinator

We are seeking an experienced HR Operations Contractor to support the day-to-day administration of Human Resources programs and employee services for our Canadian organization. This role supports approximately 230 employees, including a unionized manufacturing workforce in Montreal.
The successful candidate will manage HR administration, employee records, benefits and pension support, payroll coordination, leave management, and employee lifecycle processes while ensuring compliance with Canadian employment legislation, collective agreement requirements, and company policies. The candidate will work with the outgoing incumbent for a brief period and be responsible for filling the position and overlap with a new hire to seamlessly transition the work. Knowledge of Canadian employment standards and HR practices.
Experience administering employee benefits and leave programs.
Strong administrative and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Proficiency with HRIS and Microsoft Office applications.
ADP payroll experience
Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience Preferred Experience with Workday.
Experience supporting a unionized workforce.
Experience supporting a manufacturing or industrial workforce.
Experience with defined benefit pension plan administration.
Experience coordinating payroll with shared services or cross-border teams.
Knowledge of Quebec labor and employment practices.
CHRP designation or progress toward certification.
Benefit packages for this role will start on the 1st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching.
