Are You the Leader Who Keeps Underground Work Safe, Precise, and On Schedule?If you thrive on building reliable traffic-signal infrastructure beneath Austin’s streets—and you’re ready to lead crews with safety and quality at the forefront—this role at E-Z Bel Construction is for you.Questions to Ask YourselfCan you read TxDOT and City of Austin plans, verify survey layouts, and confirm grades and TBMs with confidence?Do you know how to plan and execute trenching, potholing, conduit installation, and ground box placements to exact specifications?Are you comfortable overseeing concrete operations and ensuring finish quality?Can you operate or supervise saws, tampers, and excavation equipment while enforcing proper maintenance and safe operation?Do you lead daily safety briefings, conduct pre-task hazard assessments, and enforce OSHA, trench safety, confined space, and traffic control standards?Are you effective at coordinating with inspectors, engineers, vendors, and subcontractors to resolve field issues?Can you manage materials, tools, and equipment allocations to keep production moving?Are you proficient with HCSS on an iPad to track time, labor, and production—and complete timecards, material logs, haul tickets, and daily reports?Do you mentor Laborers, Operators, and Leadmen—building skill, safety ownership, and future leadership?Will you lead incident reporting/investigations and partner with Safety on corrective actions?Can you represent the crew in D10 meetings and support the Superintendent with planning, scheduling, and documentation audits?When layout, schedule, or quality issues arise, do you solve them professionally with inspectors, project managers, and clients?Are you willing to jump into traffic control and flagging as needed to protect your team and the public?If You Answered “Yes,” You Likely Have5+ years of underground utility experience with prior lead/supervisory duties.Deep knowledge of underground electrical construction, concrete, trenching safety, and traffic control.Skill in reading civil/electrical drawings and specifications; familiarity with TxDOT, OSHA, and MUTCD requirements.Experience with digital timekeeping/production tools (preferably HCSS).Strong communication, leadership, and conflict-resolution abilities; English/Spanish bilingual is a plus.A valid driver’s license and an insurable driving record.OSHA 10 (required); OSHA 30, Competent Person for Excavation, and Confined Space certifications (preferred).What’s in It for YouEligible $5,000 sign-on bonus (taxable); details on eligibility, timing, continued-employment requirements, and any repayment terms are defined in the Company’s Sign-On Bonus Agreement and require your signature.Comprehensive medical, dental, and visionVoluntary life, accident, critical illness, and pet insurance401(k) planQuarterly bonusPaid Time Off and paid holidaysEmployee Assistance Program and wellness resourcesTuition reimbursement and continuing educationScholarship opportunities for eligible dependentsCompany events, community engagement, and quarterly State of the Company meetingsWork Environment & Physical RequirementsOutdoor, year-round work in all weather conditions.
