AWS Network Engineer

AWS Network Engineer We are seeking an AWS Network Engineer to serve as a subject matter expert for our cloud engineering team. This role focuses on designing, implementing, and securing scalable and highly available AWS networking architectures. The position involves leading hybrid-cloud network transformation initiatives and partnering with various teams to ensure robust and efficient network infrastructure. Key Responsibilities Design secure, scalable, and highly available AWS networking architectures, including Amazon VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, and Site-to-Site VPN. Develop enterprise network strategies that support cloud adoption and modernization initiatives. Lead hybrid-cloud network transformation projects, integrating AWS with on-premises environments. Design and implement network security controls aligned with Zero Trust principles, utilizing tools like Security Groups, Network ACLs, and AWS Network Firewall. Implement Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform to automate network provisioning and infrastructure deployment. Design networking solutions to support containerized workloads, including Amazon EKS and Kubernetes. Serve as a trusted advisor to infrastructure and cloud leadership, leading architecture workshops and developing technical roadmaps. Partner with security architects and platform engineering teams to establish governance, improve operational consistency, and support compliance initiatives. Required Qualifications 10+ years of enterprise networking experience. 5+ years of experience designing network architectures in AWS. Expertise with Amazon VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, Site-to-Site VPN, Route 53, and Load Balancers. Experience with BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and enterprise WAN architectures. Demonstrated experience designing hybrid cloud connectivity solutions. Experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC). Experience supporting AWS migration and modernization programs. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Prior consulting or client-facing experience is required.
