Location: Youngstown, OH

Onsite Flexibility: Onsite

• Position Type: Contract
• Contract Duration: 3 months
• Pay Rate: $32.00 $33.00 / Hour (USD)
• Shift / Schedule: Rotating, day to night, 8 hr shifts, 5 on, 2 off

As a Boiler Operator Building Engineer , you will be responsible for maintaining building systems including boiler systems, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, fire safety, and HVAC while ensuring compliance with safety codes, building regulations, and energy efficiency standards. The position is onsite at a large industrial facility and supports preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, and inspections.

• Learn and become familiar with all processes associated with the plant.
• Learn and be able to operate the Client (Computer Control System) for the plant.
• Learn startup, maintenance, and shut down procedures for all physical plant units and utility systems.
• Responsible for operational and maintenance requirements of the physical plant equipment and utilities including but not limited to: water supply, T.O./boiler, dryer system, reverse osmosis, CDI, and other associated equipment.
• Responsible for water chemistry and the maintenance of water supply to the plant, boiler, cooling tower, and reverse osmosis.
• Responsible for maintenance tasks as needed or assigned by the management staff or their designee.
• Ability to manage multiple complicated priorities/tasks.
• Perform additional duties as requested.
• Keep timely and accurate logs relevant to duties performed.
• Respond to collected data and make adjustments to optimize the equipment for which the boiler operator is responsible.
• Keep plant facilities clean.
• Responsible for notifying Supervisors of any equipment problems.
• Complete any and all tasks assigned by your Supervisor.
• Safe work practices are a condition of employment. Report any safety issues or problems to your Supervisor and Safety Coordinator immediately.
• Maintain a team environment with all other plant employees.

• PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE WITH HIGH PRESSURE BOILERS

• Plumbing system maintenance
• Electrical equipment repair
• HVAC system repair
• Hazardous waste disposal
• CMMS
• Microsoft Excel/Outlook/Teams
• Building code compliance
• Basic math
• Organizational skills
• Basic computer skills

• Universal CFC certification
• Prior boiler operator experience

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma required
• High Pressure Boiler Steam License Required
• Boiler Operator license required
• Universal CFC certification preferred

• 1 2 years of related experience

• High pressure boiler room within a hospital facility; role operates separately from hospital workers
• Mostly independent work
• Rotating day-to-night 8-hour shifts, 5 on/2 off; physical demands are significant
• Overtime expectations apply
• Daily visual checks including gauges, water levels, and water chemical levels
• Must be able to react quickly to changing conditions
• Occasionally escorting vendors on-site
• Ability to stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs/ladders, and lift/carry heavy loads (50 lbs or more)

• Background package: CBRE Safety Specific with drug screen required
• Interview process: 1st round virtual interview (Zoom); 2nd round in-person with site tour
