COMPENSATION: $21.50/hour

The base salary or hourly wage range for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors. About The Role

The Meat Prep is responsible for receiving the meat, checking the quality, butchering and preparing the

meat in accordance with Din Tai Fung’s procedures.

Essential Job Functions

Meat Prep Functions

• Receiving the meat from the vendor, taking care to check the quality of each item
• Butchering and prepping the meat in accordance with Din Tai Fung’s procedures
• Labeling all items in accordance with Health Department regulations and Din Tai Fung procedures

Supporting Functions

• Keeping all kitchen areas clean and sanitized
• Organizing items within the walk-in coolers and freezers
• Lifting/moving boxes, bags, chairs, and tables (up to 50 pounds)
• Assisting with regular deep cleaning of the kitchen
• Cutting and preparing the produce in accordance with Din Tai Fung’s standard cutting sizes and procedures (must be comfortable using a knife and cutting glove)
• Maintaining confidentiality regarding all propriety information, including but not limited to recipes, and Standard Operating Procedures (“SOP’s”).

• Food Handler’s Card
• o All newly hired employees must provide their Food Handler’s Certificate as of their date of hire. Employees will have up to five (5) scheduled shifts from their date of hire to present his or her Food Handlers Certificate to the supervisor. If an employee fails to bring their Food Handlers Certificate within the first 5 scheduled shifts of their employment, they are not permitted to report to work for their next scheduled shift. Thereafter, employees must provide their Food Handlers Certificate within the next seven (7) days. Employees who do not bring their Food Handlers Certificate will be deemed to have abandoned their position Page | 2 Job Description – Meat Prep (Central Kitchen) with Din Tai Fung. Job abandonment is considered to be a voluntary separation from the company.
• o If you already hold this certificate, please email it to ***email_hidden*** as soon as possible.
• o Your updated Food Handlers Certificate must be provided to the Company before the expiration of the current Food Handlers Certificate. If the updated Food Handlers Certificate is not provided by the expiration date of the current Food Handlers Certificate, you will have up to five (5) scheduled shifts from the expiration date to bring your new Food Handlers Certificate.

• Proper dress policy and non-slip shoes worn at all times
• Flexible working hours, including early morning and late-night shifts; 7 days a week operation, including holidays. Schedule may vary based on business demands

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Frequently needs to work in wet or humid conditions, near moving parts, in extreme non-weather heat, and in extreme non-weather cold
• Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, lift, use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, talk and/or hear
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perceptions and the ability to adjust focus
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds multiple times per day, and push a cart weighing up to 100 lbs.
• Constantly exposed to both hot and cold temperature conditions is pertinent
• o Cutting gloves when cutting
• o Back support belt when lifting heavy items
• o Goggles and long gloves when working with chemicals
• o Other PPE as needed (if applicable)
• Follows all safety procedures, uses restaurant safety words during all shifts, and asks for assistance as needed
