Core Duties & Responsibilities
- Safe Operation: Drive the vehicle defensively, observing all traffic laws, speed limits, and transit regulations.
- Pre and PostTrip Inspections: Check the bus before and after every shift (brakes, lights, tires, emergency exits) to ensure it is in proper working condition.
- Route Adherence: Follow preplanned routes strictly according to set time schedules, announcing stops, and communicating with dispatch about delays.
- Passenger Assistance: Help passengers board and exit, including deploying wheelchair ramps and securing mobility devices.
- Safety & Order: Manage passenger behavior, enforce bus rules, and handle emergency situations efficiently. Key Requirements & Qualifications
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL): Usually required to carry a Class B or Class C license with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements, depending on the role.
- Clean Driving Record: A safe driving history with no major traffic violations is strictly require.
