About This Role The Registered Nurse (RN) in the NICU provides specialized care for newborns and infants, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. This role is ideal for experienced nurses looking to work in a fast-paced, critical care environment. Highlights Location: New Hyde Park, NY Facility: Northwell Health Schedule: Full-Time, Night shift What You'll Do Conduct patient interviews and assess health status across multiple systems. Develop individualized patient goals and establish care priorities. Collaborate with physicians and health team members on patient care plans. Administer prescribed treatments and medications accurately and safely. Provide emotional support and education to patients and families. Document patient care and outcomes according to departmental policy. Participate in discharge planning and coordinate referrals as needed. Perform variance analysis related to outcome data for performance improvement. Assist physicians during treatments and diagnostic procedures. Maintain a safe and calm environment for patients and staff. Requirements Education: Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred. Experience: 2+ years of Level 2 or 3 NICU RN experience preferred. Licenses & Certifications: Current License to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State required.
