New Graduate Registered Nurse (RN) Pediatric Emergency Department

Where You Will Work:

Our Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center, located in the heart of Uptown Charlotte, NC, provides emergency care to children from newborns to 17 years old, treating a wide range of conditions from earaches to sepsis and traumatic injuries. The unit features 21 beds including two trauma bays across two pods, plus two triage bays for patient assessment. Our team includes expert nurses, healthcare techs, medics, child life specialists, and providers. New Graduate RNs benefit from a 16-week orientation with a dedicated preceptor, oversight from a nurse educator, and ongoing pediatric-specific continuing education. Teammates also have opportunities to join department committees such as the Sunshine Committee, Unit Based Council, and Trauma Committee. Our Child Life Program plays a vital role in preparing children for procedures and supporting them throughout their emergency visit using developmentally appropriate tools and education.

Were Looking For:

• 
  Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing

  Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
  
  



• 
  Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
  
  

What Youll Do:

As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.

Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.

About This Location:

Atrium Health Levine Childrens Hospital (LCH) has taken the community to another level of service to provide care for the growing population of children in our region. At 247 beds, LCH is the largest childrens hospital between Atlanta and Washington DC. It serves high acuity patients as the flagship childrens hospital within the innovative Atrium Health and offers a full complement of over 125 pediatric subspecialists in over 30 different pediatric specialties. We have 4 pediatric hospitalist teams, a newly expanded 24 bed PICU and 20 bed Cardiac ICU, an 85-bed Level IV NICU, and an inpatient pediatric rehabilitation floor. Levine Childrens Hospital is also Charlottes only Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center. LCH has been named a Best Childrens Hospital by U.S. News & World Report for 18 consecutive years and is nationally ranked in 7 pediatric specialties.
