Job DescriptionJob DescriptionExtruder Operator Job Summary:Our custom manufacturing firm makes the most advanced wire and cable in the world. We design and manufacture wire and cable for NASA and a wide variety of high techcompanies who make cutting edge medical, military, aeronautic, sensor and communication devices. We are looking for a self-motivated Extruder Machine Operator who enjoys the challenge of working in a custom manufacturing environment with the opportunity set-up and run several different machines every day. This position will provide the successful candidate with the chance to apply their knowledge, learn new skills, and work as a collaborative team member. The ideal candidate for this position will have strong mechanical skills, a desire to learn and develop new manufacturing skills, have some experience in plastics extrusion, pay strong attention to detail, and is committed to continuous improvement, 5S and LEAN principles.Extruder Operator Responsibilities and Duties: Ø Carry out production, inspection, and machine operation dutiesØ Set up extruder and ensure all materials are readily availableØ Effectively monitor production equipmentØ Participate in daily team meetingsØ Assist manufacturing personnel from other departmentsØ Perform appropriate duties as assigned by managementØ Interface with QA for workmanship and quality requirementsØ Maintain and continuously improve a safe and clean work spaceØ Continuously improve manufacturing processesØ Follow established safety rules and regulationsMachine Operator Qualifications and Skills:Ø Experience as an Extruder OperatorØ Good mechanical skillsØ Knowledge of the proper functions of Extruders, Extruder Tooling, Payoffs, Accumulators, and Take upsØ Knowledge of different types of conductorsØ Knowledge of different types of polymersØ Ability to accurately read Specifications/DrawingsØ Able to lift a maximum of 50 lbs and stand for an eight-hour work shiftØ Commitment to Continuous Improvement, Quality, Safety, 5S, and LEAN.Ø Team-oriented and self-directedØ Problem solving skillsØ Background check required\nCompany DescriptionCalmont Wire & Cable has provided innovative solutions for exciting projects like the Apollo and Space Shuttle Programs, and the Hubble Telescope.
