Environmental Scientist – Energy & Infrastructure - Tucson - Arizona Permanent Environmental Scientist – Energy & Infrastructure Compensation $120,000 - $160,000 Overview A leading environmental consulting firm is seeking an Environmental Scientistto support high-profile energy and infrastructure projectsacross the U.S. This role offers hands‑on technical experienceon projects including electric transmission, natural gas pipelines, renewable energy, and battery storage systems, with opportunities to grow into project management responsibilities over time. This position is ideal for a scientifically curious and motivated professional who wants career-defining project experience, exposure to regulatory processes, and mentorship from senior planners and project managers. Project Focus Electric transmission and distribution Natural gas pipelines and facilities Renewable energy (solar, wind, geothermal) Battery energy storage systems (BESS) Key Responsibilities Conduct technical environmental studies across biological, cultural, water, air, and soil disciplines Support environmental planning and permitting efforts; NEPA documentation experience is preferred but not required Prepare technical reports, data analyses, and supporting documentation for permitting and compliance submissions Assist senior staff in coordinating with clients, agencies, and internal teams Track and manage data, schedules, and project deliverables under senior guidance Contribute to risk assessments and mitigation planning Participate in client meetings, fieldwork, and stakeholder engagement Opportunity to gradually assume project management responsibilitieson smaller assignments Candidate Profile 2–6 years of experience in environmental science, environmental consulting, or permitting support Strong interest or experience in energy projects or linear infrastructure NEPA experience preferred, but not required Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team Strong technical writing, data analysis, and communication skills Motivated by hands‑on technical workand long-term professional growth Why This Role is Unique Work on high-impact, nationally significant projects Gain exposure to multiple energy sectors and regulatory frameworks Mentorship and clear path toward project management and senior technical roles Opportunity to develop expertise across environmental, regulatory, and permitting disciplines #J-18808-Ljbffr Talisman
